STEPS FOR EXCLUSION OF PROPERTY

  1. TAXES FOR ALL THE PROPERTY THAT YOU OWN MUST BE PAID IN FULL FOR ALL PRIOR AND CURRENT YEARS.
  1. ALL OWNERS OF THE LAND TO BE EXCLUDED MUST SIGN THE EXCLUSION PETITION FORM (MUST BE NOTARIZED). MUST PROVIDE A DEED (IF BMA DOES NOT ALREADY HAVE ONE), SURVEY AND OR PLAT OF THE PROPERTY TO BE EXCLUDED.
  1. SUBMITTING YOUR EXCLUSION PETITION WILL AUTOMATICLY SIGN YOU UP FOR THE NEXT AVAILABLE BOARD MEETING ONLY; IT DOES NOT EXCLUDED YOUR LAND UNTIL IT’S BEEN APPROVED BY THE BOARD (THE BOARD MEETS EVERY SECOND MONDAY OF THE MONTH PAPER WORK MUST BE SUBMITTED 2 WEEKS BEFORE MEETING).
  1. MUST INCLUDE THE ONE HUNDRED DOLLAR ($100.00) COURT RECORDING FEE AND OFFICE PROCESSING FEE WITH YOUR EXCLUSION PETITION FORM OR YOUR PETITION WILL NOT BE ON THE NEXT AGENDA.
  1. IF THE BOARD APPROVES YOUR EXCLUSION THE PAPER WORK WILL BE FILED WITH THE COUNTY COURTHOUSE THE LAND IS IN. THEN IT WILL BE RETURNED TO THE BMA OFFICE FOR FILING AND A COPY WILL BE MAILED TO THE MAILING ADDRESS YOU PROVIDED ON THE EXCLUSION PETITION FORM.
  1. IF THE BOARD DENIES YOUR EXCLUSION REQUEST BMA WILL CONTINUE TO ASSESS AN ANNUAL FLAT RATE TAX ON THE PROPERTY.
