Order to Postpone 2020 Election

ORDER OF BEXAR-MEDINA-ATASCOSA COUNTIES WATER CONTROL AND IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO.1
STATE OF TEXAS – COUNTY OF BEXAR

On the 26th day of March, 2020, be it known that the Board of Directors of the BexarMedina- Atascosa Counties Water Control and Improvement District No. I (District) has hereby adopted, by a majority vote of 7 in favor, 0 against , 0 Present-not-voting , 0 absent, this Order to postpone the District ‘s election that was to be held on May 2, 2020, to the November 3, 2020 General Election.

As per the proclamation of Governor Greg Abbott issued on 18th of March 18, 2020, which suspends Sections 41.0052(a) and (b) of the Texas Election Code and Section 49.103 of the Texas Water Code to the extent necessary to allow political subdivisions that would otherwise hold elections on May 2, 2020, to move their general and special elections for 2020 only to the next uniform election date, occurring on November 3, 2020, without otherwise adjusting the term of office.

It is Ordered that the May 2, 2020, election is now postponed until November 3, 2020 and that all Directors currently serving, will continue to serve in their capacity on the Board of the District until said election is held and that all absentee ballots for the disabled voters and voters over the age of 65 years will remain valid, voter’s who requested an Absentee Ballot by Mail based on expected absence will need to reapply if necessary.

The major relevant dates for the November election , including the voter registration deadline (October 5, 2020), the deadline to submit an ABBM (October 23, 2020), and the dates for early voting (October 19, 2020 – October 30, 2020).

This notice will serve to inform the public and the BEXAR County Elections Administrator.
